MEET NICOLE KUJAWA, M.ED CANDIDATE

Psychotherapist Intern

I grew up as the eldest of three in a single-parent household and a Midwest town where differences were glaring. Through those experiences, I learned firsthand how critical it is to find support, care, and acceptance to promote healing and advocacy. My value of respect and support for differences extends to the therapy space as I strive to provide a welcoming space for anyone ready to share their story.

I am a third-year master’s student in DePaul University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Informed by my own lived experiences and passion for working with children and adolescents, I work to support people in fostering healthy development and coping mechanisms. I am also versed in working with adults who are looking to explore healing disordered eating and trauma.  I am currently offering creative-based tools and strategies to my clients influenced by art, music, and play therapy. I believe creative expression can have a profound influence on one’s healing journey.

I have specific passions for:

🔸Children and adolescents

(youth struggle with parents going through uncoupling and other relational trauma)

🔸Adults struggling with the impact of childhood family dynamics and trauma

🔸c-PTSD

🔸Those struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image.

My goal when working with clients is to develop tools that grow with them to navigate the ever-evolving world. I bring my authentic, compassionate, and kind self to our sessions. My childhood struggle to find support from adults and care providers informs the drive and support I bring to my work with clients

MEET TOLAYA GEREDINE, MA, LCPC

Tolaya is our founding therapist, a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. She has been in the mental health field since 2012, licensed as a therapist since 2016. Tolaya is able to provide an array of services. However some of her specialties may speak directly to you, see below:

"I specialize in dealing with black men and women dealing with anxiety, depression, codependency, self-esteem issues, and family of origin issues. I can help you process your spirituality, no matter what it is (or isn't) in a safe, non-judgmental space, and support you in leaning into uncomfortable feelings so that you may work through them and find the peace that you deserve. I go as deep with you as you take me in our therapy sessions.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization, & Re-processing), which works well for reprocessing negative beliefs to help you store traumatic memories in your brain in a more functional way.

I am also trained in providing therapy to those dealing with perinatal mental health, EMDR can be used here as well. I can support you through pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, & postpartum. I am also a yoga enthusiast & I find that many people find healing in getting out of their heads and into the rest of their bodies. I have been known to utilize yoga poses in session, only when people are comfortable of course!

Just know that wherever you are on your life's journey, you don't have to live unfavorably in any way.

My approach in supporting you begins with learning about your present, exploring your past, & I use what I've learned about you to help you enter the future you desire with an enhanced self-awareness & new skills for life's challenges. I have special insights for black men & women, people of color, professionals, entrepreneurs, those struggling with imposter syndrome, perinatal mental health (men & women), and my LGBTQ+ family.

I am committed to using my clinical expertise, along with my humanity, to support, validate, & gently challenge you to disconnect from things/ideas that no longer serve you.

Regardless of the stage of life you are in, or the setting that presents you with the most challenges, let's get you to a space where you are living your life with intentionality & feeling great!"
